In my life so far, I have been blessed with the opportunity to pursue many passions, including graduate studies in physics and philosophy, massage therapy, and mostly recently, all things web design.
How did I move from academics to massage therapy to web design?
During my years in graduate school pursuing a degree in physics, I decided that my life as an academic was not balanced and consequently, I decided to leave academics and pursue something altogether different.
In an effort to ground myself and awaken to a new way of being, I decided to enroll at the incredible Florida School of Massage. Shortly after graduating, I became a licensed massage therapist.
Being academically inclined, I became increasingly interested in research in massage therapy and nutrition and started an alternative health blog. To my surprise, I began receiving requests from friends and family to help them build websites. Pretty soon, I was receiving more website clients than massage clients.
In 2011, I decided to make it official and SunCloud Design was born. Most of my work has been with local (Gainesville, FL) small businesses. I find that this work offers the opportunity to learn about all kinds of businesses. For each new project, I am challenged to co-create with my client a web presence that is unique, authentic, and engaging. I feel honored to work with many alternative-health practitioners and nonprofits.
