Beloved Teacher
As a young adult, my experience with the body’s own unique healing ability was through applied kinesiology. Muscle testing is what I was told. After the series of sessions were completed my allergies to poison ivy, grasses, dust, and other particles were completely eliminated. Stepping out into the poison ivy-infested woods was no longer an issue. This experience was life-changing. I became living proof that the body can heal itself without the use of traditional medicine if given the right circumstances.
My love for plants, flowers, and trees inspired me to pursue a career in horticulture. After obtaining a degree in plant and soil science, I “transplanted” myself from the great state of Illinois to sunny Florida.
Knowing that there was much more to life than growing poinsettias, planting live oak trees and spraying pesticides, I followed my heart to explore reflexology. First, I found a website that offered reflexology training. I found myself looking at that site almost every night. I took the plunge and enrolled in the 2007 Therapeutic Hand and Foot Reflexology Professional Certification offered by the Academy of Ancient Reflexology. I was on my way. I immediately followed my reflexology program with massage therapy training at the Central Florida School of Massage Therapy in Winter Park.
I never really did let go of my horticulture interests though; I turned my knowledge of plants towards the use of essential oils from plants, which I now use extensively in my private clinical practice. I study aromatherapy with the Aromahead Institute School of Essential Oils Studies. You could say I went full circle.
I’ve continued to evolve in this mind/body/spirit experience – finding my light in teaching yoga, teaching reflexology with the Academy and my former massage school, and clinical bodywork practice.
I’ve found my purpose. I have faith that you too will find yours, if you haven’t already. Follow your heart, your passion.

I need to sign my mom up for the Aug 24-25 continuing education classes. I’m not sure how to do it or where the location is…
