Virtual Wonder Woman
I’m still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! I tried various careers and even earned a Masters degree, but the way I supported myself through the years was as a secretary/administrative assistant. Once I realized I wanted to make the move from Memphis, Tennessee to somewhere sunny and warm and on the ocean, I knew I did not want to have to find another job.
Somewhere down the line I read about “virtual assistants” and realized that the skills I had developed over the years could be used to start my own business.
My first few clients were all looking for help with various marketing/publicity tasks, and I quickly found that I enjoyed this work more than the more traditional office tasks.
Six years later, I now live in Florida and have refined my business to work with solo business owners to help them identify their ideal client and then create a plan to effectively reach them. This varies from client to client, and includes electronic newsletters, press releases, social media management, and copywriting for websites.
It is a joy each day to be able to do work I enjoy, to help my clients get the word out about their businesses, and to also set a schedule that allows me time to enjoy the sunshine and the beach.
