How to choose a training
Reflexology, an integrative health practice, maps a reflection of the body predominately on the feet, hands and outer ears. It uses unique manual techniques to deliver pressure to neural pathways assisting the body to function optimally.
The effectiveness of reflexology is recognized worldwide by various national health institutions and the public at large as a distinct complementary practice within the holistic health field.
A common question asked of us is, “Which training should I take?” The answer to that depends on two things:
1. your level of interest in reflexology, including what your goal and intention are once you have completed your training; in other words, what do you plan to do with this knowledge?
2. what your current level of training and experience is in reflexology and/or other forms of bodywork.
There are two basic paths you can take with reflexology:
1. Reflexology for relaxation.
This is where it all starts. Relaxation is the basis of health. Many studies have been published that verify that all disease and illness is made worse by stress and in many, many instances, caused by stress. No prior education in reflexology is required to participate in these trainings. These classes are suitable for licensed professionals wishing to add increased value and results to another form of hands-on therapy they offer and for lay people wishing to offer reflexology to loved ones for no compensation.
Workshops that meet the goal of providing deep relaxation and strategies to reduce stress are:
