A Simple Act of Balance

Here’s a simple way to add value to your foot reflexology sessions – and it’s based on science!

A study published last year in the May Journal of Physical Therapy Science 29(5), 789-792 showed that when people’s calves were massaged for 10 minutes (the actual techniques didn’t seem to matter much) their ankle flexibility and balance significantly improved. This outcome is critically important to people as they age.

Starting tomorrow, I am going to add in lower leg massage when I’m applying some yummy foot butter at the end of my foot reflexology sessions. I know it feels good – and now I know it’s going to help clients with ankle fatigue and/or diminished balance abilities.

How about you?
