A Forum on Boundaries and Ethics
Deepening the Beauty of One’s Integrity
The intention of this class is to stimulate thought and discussion regarding the ethics of caring. Using the yogic model of the human body as seven subtle energy centers, we will examine the Buddhist concept of “right relationship”, as we explore the ethical issues pertaining to the seven areas of money, sex, power, love, truth, awareness, and unity.
Within the construct of an engaging and open forum you will be stimulated to:
- learn why knowing the difference between ethics, laws, morals, and etiquette is important to developing and maintaining the practice you want.
- discuss guidelines for professional boundaries and ethics.
- identify your own vulnerabilities to unethical behavior.
- create your own code of professional ethics.
- study the special needs of clients in non-ordinary states of consciousness.
It is the facilitator’s hope that participants will gain an awareness of the gift they give themselves, their clients, and the massage therapy profession when guiding principles of conduct are clearly established and practiced.
